Wellbeing Week

Empathy and Kindness

This week at Beaumaris North Primary School it was our Wellbeing Week for Empathy and Kindness. The Year 2s began the week watching the following You Tube Clip about paying it forward. This was a heart-warming introduction to our first activity for the week.

Kindness Ice creams

The students were given the necessary templates to create their own giant ice creams complete with ‘Random Acts of Kindness Sprinkles’ on the top of their ice creams with the message, ‘Sprinkle Kindness Everywhere’. We hope you enjoy viewing the photos of some of our ice creams.

3 Ways I Can Be Kind Today

The second activity we completed was 3 Ways I can be Kind Today. The students brainstormed different ways they could be kind. Some of the examples included tying a friend’s shoelace, asking someone to play, helping someone who is hurt, smiling at someone, saying please and thank you and holding the door open for someone.

The students illustrated the 3 boxes and then added a sentence underneath explaining how they could be kind.

Kindness Dominoes

The third activity we completed was Kindness Dominoes. The students were all given a large domino to illustrate a random act of kindness and write a sentence explaining their act. This activity had the message, ‘A single act of kindness can have a domino effect’.

The students thoroughly enjoyed completing the activities this week and creating three beautiful pieces of work that they will eventually bring home to share with you.
