General Information

End date - Term 4 & Pupil Free Day

School will conclude for the year on Tuesday 14 December for students. We will be holding our annual Presentation Assembly in the hall on this day.  Unfortunately, due to Covid restrictions, parents/carers are not allowed to attend. Please note: Wednesday 15 December is a pupil free day (which had previously been scheduled for the end of Term 3).

Semester 2 Student Reports

Semester 2 Reports will be available to parents on Friday through Compass. Please contact the office if you have trouble accessing your child's Semester 2 Report.

Year 7 2022 Orientation Day - McCarthy Catholic College

Year 6 students  on Wednesday 8 December for students going to McCarthy in 2022.

Year 6 Graduation Mass

The Year 6 Graduation Mass will now be held in the school hall on Friday at 9am.  With current restrictions, only two (2) parents or carers of each student will be able to attend, as per last year.  There is a pool party after Mass which will be held at the Tamworth Olympic Pool.  Year 6 must come to school dressed in their summer uniform.

Stage 3 Mystery Day

Stage 3 will take party in a 'Mystery Tour & Ten Pin Bowling on Thursday. Students are asked to wear neat, casual clothing with enclosed shoes. Please bring a hat and a water bottle.

Dates for Term 1, 2022

The official start date for the 2022 school year will be Tuesday 1 February 2022 for all students in Years 1 - 6. Kindergarten will commence Friday 4 February 2022 following Best Start Assessments.

Before School Care - 2022

Before School Care will commence in Term 1, 2022. The hours will be 7am - 8:15am (at which time playground supervision commences). Breakfast will be supplied. If you are interested in this service please contact William Wong info@esteemkidsgroup.com.au or on his mobile 0410 841 628.

Term 4 School Fees

Term 4 school fees are now due. If you have any queries or concerns please do not hesitate to contact Mrs Jodie Westhorpe.

School Hours - Supervision & Attendance

A reminder that school commences at 8:45am and ends at 2:50pm.  Supervision in the morning is from 8:15am please do not arrive before this time.  

The gate is locked for security reasons at 8:45am.  

If your child arrives to school after 8:45am a parent or guardian will need to sign the student in at the front office.  Students can be dropped off in the mornings at the Denison Street entrance or the Crown Street church gate entrance.  Only the Crown Street church gate is to be used for afternoon pick ups please. If your child is unwell, please keep them at home.

Clothing Pool Opening Hours

The clothing pool is open Monday to Thursdays 8:30am - 1:30pm.  All new items eg school bag, hat, tie and socks must be purchased on Qkr. All new items once paid will be sent home with your child.

After School Care

Chess Day 26th November

Congratulations to all the students who competed in St Joseph’s School Chess Tournament last Friday. 

Our Senior Chess players:  Kobi Blackwell, Nathaniel Delbridge, Elizabeth Eldridge, Mia Gardner, Ava Hottes, Jayden Howe, Brooke Madden, Connor Matthews, Madeleine Monet, Malachy McKenzie, Zac Moujalli, Lily Stewart, Claire Taylor, Ryan Urquhart, Mason Visser, Orlando York, Archie Allan, Arabella Hamilton, Ryan Muller, Sophia Taylor, Jayden Vu, Isabella Wherritt, Tahlia Waters. 

Our Junior Chess players: Darcy Cashen, Noah Bird, Christian Eldridge, Ewan Hamilton, Synt Lanaja, Connor Mallon, Graison Manuel, Philip Vo, Jarrod Freeman, Bailey Marshall, Khang Nguyen, Steven Vu.

By all accounts, our students had a wonderful day and enjoyed the opportunity to play nine rounds of chess.  The competition was of a very high standard.  

Thank you to Mrs Katie Hannaford for scoring and Mrs Melissa Whetton for assisting with supervising on the day.

The Senior player awards are as follows: Kurt Paz - Senior Champion, Orlando York - Runner Up, Brooke Madden - Most Improved Player, Arabella Hamilton and Nathaniel Delbridge both received Encouragement Award. Claire Taylor - Best Checkmate, Lily Stewart and Ryan Urquhart Best Game. Connor Matthews won a Chess Set and Jayden Howe won a gift voucher.  Team MacKillop was won by the Senior Players.

The Junior player awards are as follows: Bailey Marshall - Junior Champion, Christian Eldridge - Most Improved Player, Steven Vu - Best Checkmate, Lachlan Tolmie - Encouragement Award, Connor Mallon won a Chess Set and Ewan Hamilton won a gift voucher.  Team Joseph was won by the Junior Players.

All students received a Certificate of Participation and a special St Joseph’s School Chess Ribbon.
