WAAPA JUNIOR ACADEMY FOR SECONDARY STUDENTS
The Junior Academy program is an exciting and creative program designed specifically for young people who have a passion for performing. Classes consist of voice, movement, improvisation, playbuilding and acting techniques. Students have the opportunity to discover their artistic voice in text-based scripts, screen performance and creating their own performances.A person holding a camera in front of a group of people. Learn alongside WAAPA’s staff and industry guests, form friendships with people who share your passion and learn to collaborate with others to create amazing performances.
The program runs during the school term on Sunday afternoons. Bookings are made on a term by term basis.
WAAPA SUMMER SCHOOL FOR SECONDARY STUDENTS
Over Summer WAAPA opens its theatres and studios to present a host of exciting courses for young people. From acting, dancing, screen performance to jazz and music theatre, WAAPA’s Summer School offers something for everyone. Fun-filled courses that provide creative training for students in years 7 to 12. Our Summer School tutors are experienced WAAPA teachers and industry professionals. They create an environment that fosters creativity, discovery and lots of fun.

CURTIN UNIVERSITY
FOCUS ON MINING CAMP FOR YEARS 11 AND 12
16-20 January 2023 | Perth-Kalgoorlie-Perth
Focus on Mining is a multi-day residential camp for high school students to discover how they can help shape WA's future mining sector. Participants tour operational sites, research facilities and meet industry leaders.
The program will be offered during January school holidays in 2023. It targets students going into Years 11-12 who have an interest in studying STEM at university and would like to learn about future trends in WA's mining and resources sector. Focus on Mining is free with all travel, meals and accommodation provided thanks to the support of Curtin's industry partners.
CURTIN DISCOVER - SUMMER HOLIDAY PROGRAM FOR YEARS 9 - 10
DISCOVER is a school holiday program for students entering Year 9 or 10 in 2023. Over three days, students will explore Curtin University, learn about STEM career pathways and find out about a range of STEM areas important to WA. There's a wide range of hands-on activities throughout the program - data and automation; agriculture, food & water; mining & energy transitions; chemistry & health; environment & marine; space & astronomy. The program is fun, engaging & hands-on, plus a chance for students to meet like-minded people.
SANTOS SCIENCE EXPERIENCE FOR YEARS 9 AND 10
This program is designed to provide students who have an interest in science with an opportunity to engage in a wide range of fascinating science activities under the guidance of scientists who love their work.
