Gingerbread Houses

As supporters of St Mary’s House of Welcome, our Academy community has been asked to help spread the word about homelessness in Melbourne. St Mary’s House of Welcome has a new range of Gingerbread Houses and cookies that are great Christmas gifts.

Funds raised will go directly to their Welcome Relief meals program.  It will also be used to provide emergency support for their vulnerable and chronically homeless service users throughout Christmas and the New Year. They have a range of items, all available for purchase on their website.

The range includes:

  • House Cookies six for $30
  • DIY Gingerbread House Kits  $59 including lollies
  • Deluxe Gingerbread Houses  $95 fully constructed premium Gingerbread Houses
  • Corporate Logo Gingerbread Houses  $99 for a Deluxe Gingerbread House with your school logo above the door!

St Mary's House of Welcome

Took 6 students to St Mary's House of Welcome to serve up some delicious breakfast of muffins, scrambled eggs, roasted tomatoes, and some hot filling porridge to the local residents. The students were amazing, serving coffee and food, clearing tables and then helping to prepare the veggies for dinner later in the day. The students really enjoyed the experience.

Uniform & Textbook Donations

At this time each year we appeal to and invite our Year 12 students to donate specific items to the College e.g. uniform [only current items in very good condition] and textbooks [only books valid for 2022] and scientific calculators.

Additionally, students from all year levels may leave donated second-hand textbooks at the Library where they will be processed for reallocation.

With no obligation to donate personal items, we appreciate your contribution to ‘recycle’ resources for our Academy students, especially for those students who would most benefit.

When considering what you might donate please be mindful of the quality of clothing and ensure items are laundered prior to delivery.

We do not require socks/stockings/white shirts etc [unless they are in ‘new’ condition] or items which are not current uniform. It is a huge job to check through stock and your assistance will ensure a more streamlined process by donating ‘as new’ items. We do not have facilities for disposing of ‘end of use by date’ goods.

If you are happy to contribute please bring uniform items to Student Reception and textbooks to the Library before the end of this school year.

If you have any questions please email Anne Marie Allan at Student Reception.
