‘Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.’ 

1 Thessalonians 5:11

Across the school this week, students have been reminded to ‘be beside the people who help you be your best’. The students are taught to make wise choices about where they work and who they work with, making sure they are avoiding distractions and staying focused.

This message applies beyond the classroom. Who are the people who help us be our best? Who are the people who encourage us, lift us up and spur us on? These are the people we want to surround ourselves with. 

In the same way, let’s think about how we can be the best for those around us. How can we be more encouraging, uplifting, inspiring? Imagine the change we can make in the lives of those around us if we choose to give them our best. As Paul urges us in 1 Thessalonians 5:11, let us continue to encourage one another and build each other up.
