Principal's message
December 2022
I would like to welcome our new students for 2023 to the school. Many of these students have attended in past weeks to participate in a range of transition activities. The new members of our school community include several Year 7 students for next year. We acknowledge that transition to high school can be a nervous time for all and we hope that their introduction to the school is welcoming and enjoyable.
I am excited to announce some recent staffing appointments across our two campuses.
Leading Teacher for Applied Learning: Alana Smith.
Alana will be leading the ongoing development of our applied learning programs across both campuses. This work will include enhancing our approach to teaching transferable and 21st century skills. Alana will be based at our Coburg campus and will teach VCE VM Literacy as part of her role.
Learning Specialist for Instructional Practice: Seamus Coppick.
Seamus has been working with us for the past twelve months and we are pleased to announce that the valuable contributions he has made will continue in 2023. Seamus will be supporting staff at both our campuses to strengthen their instructional practice in classrooms to ensure better outcomes for the young people with whom we work.
I’d like to take the opportunity to thank you all for your support throughout the year, and particularly your patience over the last term in the absence of a substantive Business Manager.
The long summer break can be an enjoyable time to unwind, relax and spend time with family and friends. We also know that it can be a time of stress and uncertainty for some young people and their families.
If you are in need of a food hamper before the end of the term, please speak to someone from our wellbeing team about what we can arrange for you. Additionally, the 'Heath & Wellbeing news' section of this newsletter provides a wealth of information regarding services and program available over the summer break.
