The Council is an opportunity for young people to meet with the Premier and Government to discuss their ideas on how we can make Tasmania a better place.

Bags of Hope (Repeat) - Return by Wednesday 30 November

The Joy of Christmas doesn't extend to all families across Tasmania.

The Salvation Army is asking schools and members of the community to help fill a “Bag of Hope” this Christmas.

A “Bag of Hope” comes with a shopping list of items that would provide a family with a Christmas meal and all those little extras that are so nice at this time of year. If you are able to help, please get in touch with email us at prtas@salvationarmy.org.au - Your generous contribution will help make a real difference.

Please deliver filled bags to Roseanne Randall in the SCC office, by Wednesday 30 November, for delivery to The Salvation Army.

Last Christmas, The Salvation Army saw a significant increase in the number of Tasmanians reaching out for support. In fact, the number almost doubled with 6202 people provided with assistance during the holiday period compared with 3107 in 2020. We know many Tasmanians continue to struggle with increased costs of living and anticipate that we will see an even higher number of people reach out for help this year.
