Unfinished Business

Unfinished Business

In Baseball, victory is determined not by hits but by runs. The player who gets to third base and no further doesn’t get credit for three- quarters of a run.

It’s that way with a task. Getting started is fine, and carrying it forward is fine, but until the task is completed you haven’t done what you set out to do. Yet many people form the habit of “working for awhile” on a project, then setting it aside, kidding themselves into thinking that they have accomplished something. All they are doing is leaving someone stranded on base!

Getting Things Done

“I can endure all these things through the power of the one who gives me strength”. Phil 4:13

It is so easy to give up before the task is really completed – the temptation to set it aside rather than going the extra mile is often strong – after all someone else will do it surely?! We all the know the immense satisfaction gained from a job well done!

May we be willing to seek God’s help to push through with a vision, a project or merely a task; may we not be the one to leave someone stranded on base.

Go safely!
