Inter School Sport

ISS is back up and running with our teams competing last week and with this fine weather set to continue, looks like we will also get our competition in this Friday. Last week we had mixed results with our Soccer team having one win and one loss, Rugby League showed some improvement going down to Elanora and our Netball team had a bye but enjoyed playing one another. We look forward to seeing the results from this weeks fixtures!

Athletics Carnival – Yr. 3 – 6 & 10-12 Yrs Long Jump/800m Shortlisting

As you are aware, we do not have full access to our school oval until next term – impacting on facilities to run some of the events. With this in mind, along with Oceanic District nominations for 10 – 12 year old’s due in Week 3 next term, current facility issues and the recent unpredictability of the weather, we have decided to complete our 800m and Long Jump competitions for 10 – 12 years ONLY via a shortlisting process. Students will be able to trial to be short listed next week from Tuesday – Thursday with successful students being given a parent permission form to be able to compete in the Long Jump and 800m competition for district selection on Friday 24th of June. Further information about this will be emailed home shortly.

All other events, including the 100m, High Jump, Shot Put and Discus will take place in a Yr. 3 – Yr. 6 Athletics Carnival for all students, scheduled for the first Friday back next term – Friday 15th July with Wednesday 20th July being our back up date if we experience wet weather. We will hold a Prep – Yr. 2 carnival later in the year when we have full access to the oval.
