Wonder in Alice Land

Drama Camp

The production students set off to Roses Gap in week 3. The intention of this camp was to get some good rehearsal time in, as well as give the students opportunities to form relationships and team build with their cast members.

Thursday was team building day! We were fortunate enough to complete the low ropes course. Many of the tasks required teamwork, problem solving and effective communication.

It was pleasing to watch the students collaborate so well with each other to complete each task. That night, the karaoke machine was set up and the list of students wanting to sing was a mile long!

Students rehearsed the entire show twice over as well as some extra focus on specific scenes. They did an amazing job and we are so excited to present this show in September!

Drama Camp 2022

On Thursday 12th May, a large group of Drama students from Edenhope College went to the Drama Camp which was held at Roses Gap. Some of the girls in our class (Year 5 & 6) went to get a hot chocolate and then went to the playground which nearly made us miss the bus!

There was a minibus and a big bus. The 5/6s went on the minibus, we got to sing and had an amazing teacher Miss Pearson. We sang "We do not talk about Bruno," and lots of others, it was so much fun.

After two hours of driving, we got there and started to grab our bags but then we got called to hear the ground rules such as "don't go on the play things," unless you are with a teacher etc. After that we were given our cabins and went to unpack. I had a bottom bunk and so did Adelle, the rest of the group had top bunks.

We went to the low rope course and it was amazing. Then it was off to lunch and the to practice our play. This was followed by some chill time, tea and then Karaoke where we sang and danced and had a great time. Ivy, Ayla and I sang Little Mix's "Black Magic," it was funny.

After that it was time for showers and then bed. We stayed up talking for about 30 mins before bed.

In the morning we were supposed to get up at 8am but we got up at 5.30am.  We got dressed, had breakfast, packed and then practiced the play once more. After that we did room checks and then got back on the buses to go home.

On the way home we went to May Park in Horsham and then went back home (aka school). I really enjoyed the camp, thanks Mrs Stringer, Miss Pearson and Mr Walker for looking after us.
