Principal Report

Thank you

Hello to all in the Edenhope College learning community. When I say ‘learning community’ I’m talking about all stakeholders that are part of our school, - students, parents, staff and people who support us in the Edenhope community and beyond. I have been away for 8 weeks on personal leave and I would like to take the time to thank all staff at Edenhope College for their efforts over that time. Coming back, I noticed students being engaged and supported and lots of communication going home to parents as well as communication coming back from you. We will endeavor to build on the communication as we continue forward. Timely feedback for students in their learning is paramount and it is the same with communicating home. As a school it is a goal of ours to increase transparent communication.

National Reconciliation Week 27/5– 3/06

I’d like to recognise National Reconciliation Week this week and ask all in our learning community to follow the theme for reconciliation week which is “Be Brave and Make Change”.  At Edenhope College we’re an inclusive school and workplace that embraces diversity in all its forms. For me it’s about having empathy and putting yourself in other peoples shoes. Below is a picture of the Grade 4/5/6’s participating in a National Reconciliation Week activity at Henley Park last Friday that was organised by Katrina Shirrefs and the Edenhope Kindergarten.

Attitudes to School Survey

It’s back to that time of year again when we check the pulse of Edenhope College. Over the next 3 months students, staff and roughly a third of parents will be presented with the annual survey. It asks questions about engagement, academic focus, communication and wellbeing. If/when you have the opportunity to participate in the survey we simply ask that you answer questions as honestly as you can. It provides the school with data that helps plan our areas of focus. If you see good things happening say that, if you see opportunity for areas to improve give that feedback. Students start the survey next week, staff and parents in Term 3. Below I’ll attach a letter that we will also send our to each family personally, so have a read and hopefully it answers any questions you have about the survey. When the survey is about to come due each group will be communicated with so people understand what’s required.
