Routines

In Prep this term, the students are focusing on establishing routines to build their independence. Implementing strong routines within our Learning Community, supports students in their learning and organisation and allows for smooth transitions between tasks. Below you can see some of our Prep routines in action.

Engaging in our Floor Friends routine
Packing up after each session
Using walking feet when in our Learning Community
Prep C's and Prep D's line up snake

Classroom Displays

In each of our classrooms we have a daily schedule which helps the students know the overall plan for the day. Our toilet symbols are next to eating times and their break times to help students remember when they should be using the facilities to ensure they don't miss out on learning time. In prep we are also tracking how many days we have been at school so that we can celebrate as a whole cohort when we reach 100 days.

Kids' Voice

In Prep, the students have been busily practicing lots of very important routines to help them with their learning and sense of belonging. We have enjoyed seeing and hearing our students chanting the '4 B’s' song when coming in each morning and our 'Table Song' when they are working at their tables.

Read below to hear what some of our students had to say about which routines they can proudly do independently!
