Growing a Learning Culture

The Student Progress Report sent to parents and guardians at the end of Term 1 sought to provide specific information in key areas of student learning. In short, the report provides an insight to a student’s regard for learning and the learning work of others and their contribution to a productive environment. Students who consistently rated highly in all five domains were celebrated with a morning tea and a certificate of congratulations and are recognised below. Overall there were 147 students who attained this distinction (Year 12 not included due to being on a different reporting cycle). The growth in numbers of students achieving at this level is indicative of students ‘buying in’ to a culture that promotes learning for all. Conversely, students who have struggled with their learning habits are receiving direct and specific support from their Mentor teacher and Leader of Student Care as they work to help each student remove any barriers to their learning. Parents and carers will play a key role in this process as home and school work in partnership to ensure every student has an opportunity to do their best and expand their life choices through education.
