Please remember orders close at 8.30 am, please allow plenty of time when placing orders.

 

Second hand uniform sales - available to purchase on QKR, a small selection of second hand Kalinda uniforms in various sizes including Kalinda logo school jumpers, Kalinda Sports tops, and Navy girls leggings with tags. If you wish to view before purchasing, you can stop by the canteen between 3 pm and 3.20pm Monday to Thursday, alternatively, items can be purchased and sent to your child's class on the next school day. Any funds raised from this sale are donated to State School Relief.

 

Birthday treats are to be collected before school or at recess from the canteen.

 

Hot chocolates must be personally collected by your child from the canteen at lunchtime. 

This item is too fragile to go into the lunch basket.

 

Take-home meals - A selection of take-home meals are available to purchase on QKR - the collection is from the canteen back door anytime until 3.25 pm daily. Please check QKR for options.

 

Dates - Term 2 last canteen day is Thursday 23rd June. The canteen will be closed on Friday 24th June for cleaning and stocktake. Term 3 canteen resumes Wednesday 13th July 

 

Please note we continue to have supplier issues with some products and fresh produce.

 

Nachos are currently unavailable on a Friday due to a lack of oven space. Some items are only available on specific days like Taco Thursday or Beef Burritos & Fettuccine Carbonara on  Wednesdays. The canteen has a number of meals available to purchase through QKR.

 

If you cannot see your favorite item, it may be sold out, unavailable due to supplier issues, or just not available on the day that you prefer.

 

Please ensure you check the ingredients and information listed on QKR to help you make the right choice with dietary requirements for your child and their specific dietary needs or specifications.

 

 

Meatloaf

 

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 brown onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh breadcrumbs
  • 500g beef mince
  • 300g pork mince
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 tbsp wholegrain mustard
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 3/4 cup tomato sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar

 

Preheat oven to 200°C/180°C fan-forced. Grease a 9cm-deep, 9cm x 19cm (base) loaf pan. 

Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic. saute for 5 minutes or until the onion has softened. Set aside to cool.

Place onion, breadcrumbs, minces, egg, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and 1/2 cup tomato sauce in a bowl. Mix until combined. Shape and place into greased pan. 

Combine sugar and remaining sauce in a small bowl. Spread over top of meatloaf. Bake for 1 hour or until meatloaf is browned and comes away from the sides of the pan. Slice and serve with potato, vegetables, and gravy.
