Developing an understanding of sorting according a common characteristic, such as shape, colour or size
Inquiry
We have continued to support the children in exploring the ways in which they can express their thoughts and ideas through different mediums, including art, construction, music, and storytelling.
The children have had the opportunity to revisit the mediums introduced over the course of the term as they have determined their medium or ‘language’ of choice and use this to create a detailed piece of work that has been accompanied by a verbal narrative.
Extending on the work the children have been engaged in with wire and clay to explore working on 3 dimensional models
Social & emotional learning
Practicing mindfulness as the children have listened to relaxing music and engaged in guided meditations
Practicing mindful breathing techniques, such as tracing your index finger around the fingers of the other hand while breathing slowly in and out
Supporting the children in their interactions with one another to help them develop strategies to resolve conflict with their peers
