Sharing and Celebrating our Learning

As we come to the end of term, the children are busy completing their learning. Across the different communities, there is much innovating and creating going on. The following galleries celebrate the amazing learning that all the children have achieved this term. Well done!

Preps - Amazing Animals! How and why are animals different across the world?

The year Preps have been learning to identify the features of animals and where they live. They  have learnt about living and non living things, features of animals, habitats across the world and the animals that live in those habitats. To demonstrate their learning they are creating dioramas of habitats and including the animals that live in them. These pictures show the year preps adding the animals to their habitats.

Year 1 and 2 - We are Earth Scientists: how can we investigate and explain the changes on our Earth?

This term, the Year 1 and 2 students have been busy learning about changes in the weather and how to describe those changes. They have learnt about the seasons, types of weather, and conducted experiments. To demonstrate their learning, the children are being weather reporters and creating video weather reports for the class.

Year 3 and 4 - I see a need, how can I make a difference?

The Year 3 and 4 students were learning to understand how the environment continues to sustain human life and wellbeing. Throughout the term, they unpacked sustainability and chose a topic of sustainability they would like to research and learn more about. To demonstrate their learning, they needed to design a solution for an issue of sustainability.

Year 5 and 6 - To infinity and beyond: Is the Earth at the center of the universe?

The Year 5 and 6 students were learning to understand the inter-connectedness of the solar system and how it works. Over the term, they learnt about the planets in our solar system. They researched a planet they were interested in and created space crafts to travel to that planet. On their return to school, they took part in some STEM challenges to demonstrate some of the skills they acquired.

One of the challenges was Touchdown. The children needed to design and build a shock-absorbing system that would protect two astronauts when they land.
