Catholic Identity

                               Mercy Prayer

We pray for the Sisters of Mercy, who established our school and for the priests who have served at

St. Mary’s.  It is through their vision,  determination and strong faith that we enjoy the benefits of a

                                                                   Catholic Education here in Mooroopna.

We are proud to be a Mercy School, where the values of love and justice are taught and lived every day.

Sacramental Program - Sacrament of Eucharist

The Parent Information meeting will be held on Wednesday 17th October at 7pm in the Marian Centre.

It is very important that each candidate is represented by at least one adult at the meeting.

The commitment masses for the Sacrament are Saturday 20th at 6.30pm or Sunday 21st October at 10.00am.  Further information will be given at the meeting.

Socktober - Appeal for the Missions

This October, we want people to prove that even a small act of love can make a big difference in the lives of our neighbour.

                                                                         Help sock it to poverty!

Socktober is an easy and fun movement to help the homeless in your community during the month of October.   Each class has a ‘sock jar’ and by making a donation they will be helping the poor people in the world – many who are homeless.  Socktober is an initiative of Catholic Mission and one way which our school can fundraise and assist Catholic Mission during World Mission Month in October.

We will also have a CRAZY SOCK DAY on October 31st for a gold coin donation.

Congratulations to Amani Issell, Ebony Sleeth and Poppy Vandermeer who used their own initiative to raise money for the Socktober appeal.  They held their own 'refreshment stand' on the weekend and raised an amazing $40.60.  Well done girls.

                                       Parenting Advice

Love for most of us, discovered within the ordinariness of every day family life. God chooses ordinary and imperfect people – mums and dads – to reveal his extraordinary love. For this reason, Pope Francis describes married couples as "living icons" of God's creative love.

This year, the Archdiocese of Melbourne's Life, Marriage & Family Sunday takes up this idea with the theme: Living Icons - Mothers, Fathers and the Gospel of the Family. Resources created, look at the unique yet complementary gifts of motherhood and fatherhood and the powerful role, parents play in raising and forming their children. While none of us are perfect, children are best served when those they look up to – especially their parents – resolve never to stop striving for the perfection that Christ calls us to (Mt 5:48). The resources below have been designed to give practical suggestions and tips to encourage all, in the daily realities of family life.
