Career & VET Report

Try A VET Day
On Thursday the 1st of August the year 9 class travelled to Horsham to participate in Try a Vet day. I did nursing and we learnt how to make hospital beds, check for a pulse, clean our hands properly, and name bones. I also participated in community services where we learnt about careers in aged care and childcare. I preferred nursing over community services as nursing was a lot more practical compared to community services.

On the 1st of August a few of the year nines headed to Horsham for try a vet day. I tried out the health services and community services where we participated in a range of different activities. The day was to give us a little taste of what vet would be like if we wanted to go further with it. The activities in health included making a hospital bed properly, taking a pulse, naming the bones of the body and a Iot more. In Community services we did some little games and mixed with the other kids, I preferred the health services but it was a good day.

Richmond Institute of Sports Leadership
We welcome interested students and their families to our Open Days. They include an in-depth presentation about the program where they hear from Richmond Institute and Swinburne University staff members, as well as past & current students.
For those in Year 12 (VCE or VCAL), students can then apply via an online application for our 2020 program. We will conduct a phone interview and if successful, students will then receive an offer for a position. Places are limited, so please ask students to register for an earlier Open Day if they are wanting to secure a place.
