Met North Futsal

Last weekend I was lucky enough to be part of the Met North U13 Futsal team to compete at the QSS tournament.

Our team finished top of Pool B, after winning all three of our games on the Saturday.  It was particularly exciting for me in the last game of the day against Met West where I scored a goal.  Our other two games on Saturday were against Darling Downs and Sunshine Coast.

On Sunday we went into the quarter finals to decide who would play for the Cup and who would play for the Bowl.  The first match of the day would decide the finals and, while Met North started strongly, we struggled to cap off the game losing to Met East.  This meant we would be playing off for third and fourth places in the afternoon.

I was captain for this last game where we came up against Darling Downs again, and it was a tight battle till the end.  We ended up having extra time but came away with the win 8-7.  This meant we finished in third place for the tournament, earning a medal.

Then on Sunday there were semi-finals and finals.  They had set it up like a Champions League match and a Bowl League match.  We were in the Champions League.

It was a very tiring and fun weekend to play with all the girls and messing around in between games.  I can’t wait for the 2020 Futsal season to start now.
