BOOK WEEK
Wow! What an amazing week we have had. Our Scholastic Book Fair was a huge success and we have lots of bonus dollars to purchase some new books for our library. Thank you to everyone who supported the fair.
The winner of the Guess the Jar competition was Hugo from 5/6S. Well done.
Thank you to all of the children and their families for creating the most amazing character costumes for our Book Parade. An fantastic effort by all.
Our visit from author Kym Lardner was another highlight of the week with the children and staff enjoying his humorous approach to storytelling and guitar playing.
Lastly 4 of the 6 classes shared their door displays at assembly. Thank you to the class teachers and their students for their wonderful effort with these. Grade 3/4 and Foundation will share their displays in the coming weeks. All 6 class displays will be hung in the library or the junior corridor for everyone to see.

“HOUR OF POWER”
This term we shall be working every Thursday morning 9am-10am. Please come help us
enhance our school.
Pick My Project
You may be aware that the St Anne’s Avengers Basketball Club in conjunction with our school have entered for “Pick a Project’ managed by the Victorian Government. It basically comes down to a popularity contest between projects in given areas to receive funding. Through the initial work of Julie Tenner followed up by Pip Bakshi and Nicole Newport-Ryan we have a project entered to re-do our basketball court with a new surface, seating and a roof. It would improve our school’s facilities immensely.
Please help us by voting. It doesn't take long and imagine the difference it would make if we won this grant.
Found Key
This key was found in the playground. If it belongs to you please collect from the office.
Kym Lardner Author Visit
On Monday 27th August Kym Lardner visited St Anne’s as part of Book Week celebrations. Kym entertained students with his original storytelling, illustrating and singing. He has also written and illustrated 4 picture books which have sold 130,000 copies in Australia, England and Canada. Many of our children have enjoyed the thoughtful life messages in his picture story books during class time. It was a delight to see the joy on faces and hear the roaring laughter as Kym engaged and involved the children in his storytelling, illustrating and singing with great humour.
Kym has a selection of books and audio resources available to purchase. Check out the following websites. He is kindly reducing his price to $10 for St Anne’s families. Please fill in the form sent home with your child to take up these offers.

Kinder Visit
On Wednesday Mr Bush and the Year 4 students went to visit the Seaford Kinder students AKA "The Periwinkles".
After the introductions Mr Bush read a book to a captivated audience like only Mr Bush could do. They all loved it of course. The year 4's read a book to the Periwinkles, had fruit snack together, had a play in the beautiful sunshine and then sadly it was time to return to school.
