P & F Newsletter

Hi St James Families,

We hope all families enjoyed everyone being back together again at school

After quite a long hiatus we are properly back now with a few small events happening as we ease back into normality before the year ends. In the coming weeks we will put in place some plans for 2022 and begin asking for generous volunteers who can put their hand up to help with a role, event or task. It is a big enough job planning and coordinating the many events and functions of the P&F so we really appreciate the support from across the community to assist with a variety of small and larger tasks. We are hopeful that after two very difficult years next year can be a lot smoother for all our sakes!

ST JOHN'S PARISH FETE RAFFLE 2021

While the St John's Parish Fete cannot go ahead this year the famous fete raffle is back for 2021!

There are ten amazing prizes available, first prize being a voucher for $1500 to a shopping centre of your choice. It is only $2.00 a ticket or $20.00 for a book of ten tickets. Your support is a concrete way of contributing to the continuing vibrancy of our community.

St James P&F will receive 50% of all school ticket sales. We have the potential to raise $2 500 if all books are fully sold.

All St James families who return their tickets on time will also go into a draw for a bonus prize.

The raffle will be drawn on Sunday 12th December at St John’s Church after the 11.15am Mass.

Named and numbered books of 10 tickets came home last Friday with your oldest child.

As this is a registered raffle all books need to be accounted for and MUST BE RETURNED SOLD OR UNSOLD by FRIDAY 3RD DECEMBER. Please can you assist with this by returning as soon as possible we aren't having to chase you up! All tickets need to be accounted for.

Many thanks for your support of this important Parish fundraising effort.

VACCINATION REQUIRED FOR VOLUNTEERS

The school has advised that all volunteers must be fully vaccinated, and it is important that prior to volunteering school leadership see your proof of vaccination. The easiest way to do this is, if you do put your name down to volunteer, at the same time email a copy of your certificate to the office at: office@sjvermont.catholic.edu.au.

Volunteer lists need to be checked by office staff for valid Working with Children Checks and now Vaccination Certificates. Thank you for your assistance with this.

SUBWAY FOOD DAY - FRIDAY 19th NOV

Food Days are finally back! Order envelopes were sent home on Friday and are due back This FRIDAY 12th NOVEMBER.

FRIDAY TREATS- ICY POLES ARE BACK

Friday treats were back last Friday and weren’t they popular! It seemed every child at the school bought either an icy pole or a lamington with many buying both! Next week there are some lamingtons left but they should sell out and so for the coming weeks it will just be icy poles for sale.

As of next week we can welcome back volunteers to sell Friday Treats. If you would like to help please sign up at volunteersignup.org/M9T7Y and remember to sign/check in and send in your proof of vaccination. Thanks to Mel Hewitson for coordinating the Friday treats for our children!
