From the School Leadership Team,

From Mr. Chant,

Principal

Today marks the end of another interesting period of work at our school. The learning at home and on site journey has been a challenging one, but the way in which our children have embraced this current period of learning has been truly remarkable and a great reflection on the support from the learning at home team and the support of the school staff.

Thankyou to everyone who has made the term such a success. Even in these challenging times we have continued to improve the school, work closely with families to support student learning, address some welfare concerns for families and make adjustments to our online learning program. The support, feedback and engagement has made sure we have continued our improvement journey.

Many families in our local Jewish community have been celebrating Yom  Kippur. This period of holy reflection involves fasting, prayers and at the end of the day a shifar is blown to signify the end of Yom Kippur.

Term 4 is scheduled to commence on Monday October 4th at 9:00 am.

We have planned for term 4 to be held on site at CJC, however, depending on the lockdown restrictions and how they are being considered I would ask all families to be prepared and ready for the remote and flexible learning program to still be in operation at the start of term 4.  As soon as we know the format for term 4, we will advise families via Compass.

Daylight saving time 2021 in Victoria will begin at 2:00 am on Sunday, 3rd of October. If we are learning from home,  please ensure your clocks are correct and log in at the correct time.

As we are planning for the coming school year and working on class structures, staffing and the timetable we need an accurate enrolment estimation to ensure the integrity of this process.

  • If you haven’t added your child to our prep enrolments please contact the office as soon as possible.
  • If your plans for 2022 mean your child will be learning at another venue please contact us to confirm this decision so we can update our records.

The Bring Your Own Designated Device  (BYODD) program is planned to commence in term 1 of 2022 with students in year 3 and 4. This week we held an information session for families that outlined the rationale, the timeline, the type of device proposed and the ordering process. The implementation is targeted at the current year 2 and 3 classes to ensure longevity of the device within the learning program and having our senior students being able to access the devices and use their ICT to enhance the quality of the learning program at CJC. Families will receive a compass link today with the link to the presentation.

Term 4 is the start of the Sunsmart requirement for all students to have a broad brimmed hat. Please make sure you can find these important uniform items, clearly label them and have them ready for use.

Thankyou to Mr. Demos Diplaris who has worked this term in Grade 4 replacing Mr. Kirk. Your contribution and support of the class has been terrific. We wish you well as you start work at Windsor PS next term.

Mr. Michael Capasas has worked in our Intervention team for the last two terms. His placement has come to an end and next term he is working at Wallarano PS. Thankyou for the work you have done to support the language learning at our school. We will miss you.

From Mme. Pommier,

French Director.

Dear parents and carers, we would like to wish a happy holiday to you and your children.  Hopefully, you can make the most of this break to relax, take the family to the park, try rollerblading or bike riding… Why not experiment in new hobbies away from screens?  Music, painting, cooking, and photography are all fantastic pastimes for our kids.  Please share your holiday pictures so we can publish them at the start of term 4.

Thank you for your support and contribution in making remote learning such a success.

Happy Spring Holidays to all!
