Discover Sailing Day

Spread the word - hot on the heels of SheSails, Princess Royal Sailing Club will host a Discover Sailing Day from 10am to 3pm on Sunday 27 October.

Bring your friends to PRSC on Discover Sailing Day for the perfect opportunity to check out what the sport of sailing is all about. We’ll have sailing experiences on offer for both kids and adults at this free community sporting activity.

Off-the-Beach Sailing

It was a fantastic effort on the weekend in the now-new Laser shed (Dinghy Shed Bays Five & Six). Many thanks to all who participated on both Saturday and Sunday; but especially to Brendan, Anthony and John for their combined engineering genius on Sunday.

Lisa has determined a wish list for bringing the Club Laser fleet up to scratch:

• 2 x 4.7 training sails – isails is our cheapest option with a few prices. Sails are $230 each, add a storage bag for $22 and numbers for $25.  Postage for one sail is $25 or two sails for $37.50.
• Total for 2 sails with all of the above is $591.50

These sails are much cheaper than the authentic Laser sails, however, are still expensive when the limited Training budget is considered.

I appeal to all Club family and friends to check their sheds and other storage areas for any Laser, or indeed, Mirror equipment.

Mirror equipment required:

• 3 x Rudders
• 2 x Cream top deck caps
• 1 x centre board
• 4 x Velcro boom straps

Please let me know ASAP if you come across any gear that may be used.
