Art - Tuesday
Task:
This week we are going to write a reflection on what we have done in our art lessons during home learning. You will need to write down your reflection in your Specialists home learning book or on a piece of paper. We will be sharing our reflections when we are back at school, so make sure you keep your work in a safe place with all your other Specialist work.
For your reflection you need to choose one sentence starter from the list below. You need to write a paragraph for your sentence starter. Write your paragraph with linking sentences and edit your work after you have written it to check for spelling and punctuation.
REFLECTION SENTENCE STARTERS:
- My work was successful because…
- The most challenging thing was…
- While making this work I discovered…
- I am proud of my work because…
- I could improve my work by…
- I want to know more about…
- While making my work I explored…
- I now know…
I am looking forward to sharing your work with you back at school!

Performing Arts - Thursday
Hi Grade 3s,
Following on from last week’s lesson, this week you will be focusing on writing a monologue (speech) for your character about a day in their life.
Last week you began writing down some of your ideas and notes in your notebook (or on paper). Today you will begin writing your monologue.
Task 1: Use your notes to write a short piece about what your character does during their day, from the moment they wake up until they go to sleep. You should aim to have one or two short paragraphs (about 100-200 words) in total.
Remember: you are writing this as your character, so you need to write in the first person (using’ I’ or ‘me’)
Task 2: Once you have finished writing your monologue, you need to practice ‘performing’ it in character. Don’t forget to use all the things we have covered over the last few weeks (changing your voice, movement, mannerisms etc). You will also have time to practice and put your performance together once we’re back in school; I’m really looking forward to seeing what you have come up with.
Remember: Don’t worry if you don’t get your monologue written this week, you’ll have some time once you’re back in school. In the meantime, I want you to have fun with this, don’t put too much pressure on yourself! Try to enjoy the work and just do your best :-)
And finally…
Make sure all your Performing Arts work is in your specialist home learning book or in a folder all together in one place so that you can bring it into school to show me what you’ve managed to do.
I’m really looking forward to seeing you all soon!
