Year 12 Studio Arts Gallery Excursion

Year 12 Studio Arts students visited Monash Gallery and Lon Gallery of Art. Both of these excursions were valuable opportunities to understand the roles of public and commercial art galleries and the procedures involved in making them run. Students learned about staffing, curation, installation procedures and funding strategies. It was a highlight for students to see where the artworks were stored, and how they are handled to conserve and preserve them for longevity.

Year 1

Have you ever heard of Pete Cromer? You may not know the name, but you may have seen his artwork on cups, tea towels and on other kitchenware. Year 1 created their own textured papers before turning them into collage animals just like Pete Cromer.

Year 5

Year 5 students reflected on the use of materials, upcycling and how we care for the earth. These wonderfully unique creations required assemblage, mache and new painting techniques.
