School Cricket Round 4

This week we played Largs Bay Primary Blue team at our home ground.  Brendon and Chloe were our captains for this week, and we loss the toss and they sent us in to bat first.  It was our lowest score so far this season, and they beat us with 10/134 compared for our 12/78.

Playing this week was Brendon, Murray, Cooper, Molly, Jasper, Hayley and Chloe.  Our two wicket keepers were Murray and Chloe.

Thanks to Ben for umpiring for us again and helping at training on Thursday.

Highlights of the game were:

Chloe getting 4 runs (being top scorer for the game alongside Molly, also on 4).

Brendon and Cooper both took 3 wickets each, Murray took two, and Jasper and Hayley both took one.

Cooper took our first catch for the season (off Brendon’s bowling).

Molly had a maiden over.

The team in general bowled a lot less wides than in our previous games and the bowling in general has improved greatly.

At training this week, we practiced backing up the wicket keeper and bowler, and it showed in this game.

Our next game is a Lightening Carnival on Friday 22nd November at the Karen Rolton Oval.  Games start at 4:30pm and it looks like there will be three rounds, followed by a medal presentation.  The games we have been playing so far are all T20, but the Lightening Carnival will be less overs so we can get through all the games.  Consequently, there will be no game on Saturday.  Training will be on Thursday, weather permitting.

I am proud of this team and it is great to see them having a go.

Good cricket, everyone!
