Term 4 Update

Dear Parents and Caregivers

As always, this term is certainly flying by and we are way past the half way mark. Teachers are busy writing reports for the end of 2019 and formulating classes for 2020. There is always so much to do. It is also the time to reflect and celebrate achievements as the year concludes.

All staff at LNPS are very proud of recent data that demonstrates significant gains across the entire school in terms of academic progress as measured through NAPLAN, PAT testing and other  internal testing measures. This growth and achievement would not be possible without the passion and dedication of our staff.

End of year student reports, 2020 class placements and 2020 Materials and Services charges will be distributed to families on Friday 6th December. Optional interviews are also available to families by request if clarification regarding your child's report is needed. Please contact your child's teacher to arrange a suitable time during Week 9.

We hope that you have already marked 9am December 13th into your diary for the 2019 Farewell Assembly. This is a great way to celebrate and finish off the year. We will be saying goodbye to our Year 7 Graduates and some staff who are retiring.

Sentral Parent Portal

This term will be the last one where LNPS prints a paper copy of each student’s school report. From 2020 all reports will be published and available in the Sentral Parent Portal.

Parents will be able to view, save and print a copy as required and have a file of their student’s progress. This will also save considerable time and resources for the school.

Over 250 of our families are already using the Parent Portal for booking Learning Conferences in Terms 1 and 3, and have access to real time data on attendance  and reports.

If you have not yet registered for the Sentral Parent Portal please contact Vanessa in the Front Office who will be able to forward instructions on how to register. You need a valid email address to be able to set this up. If needed, more than one parent or care giver can register.

Governing Council

The Governing Council at Lockleys North Primary School is a hard working group of parents and staff who work collaboratively to provide a quality learning environment for your children.

Its members are responsive to any issues that arise and their role is to determine the views of our local community with regards to the educational needs of the school. The Governing Council informs the Principal of these views and needs.

We have 10 vacancies starting 2020 and are calling for nominations from members of the school community to stand for Council. Councillors elected serve for two years.

Meetings are for about 2 hours (7.00-9.00pm) twice a term.  If you would like further information in regards to Governing Council or would like to nominate for a vacancy please email

tyson.grinham428@schools.sa.edu.au by Wednesday 27th November.

There will be an election of people after this date in which the whole school community is provided a voting slip if we have more nominations than vacancies.

We encourage parents to get involved and stand for election to Council.
