John XXIII Rowing Club 

Who would have thought that after all the challenges this year has thrown at us, that we would finally be here; the final regatta of the year.

 

With a season full of unprecedented events from hazardous air quality, gale force winds, COVID-19 challenges and the beast that is rowing, we find ourselves now looking to our very last regatta of the season.

 

It was impressive to see the attendance numbers this week and a very big congratulations to all rowers for remaining committed to their training.

 

Wishing all rowers a wonderful, safe and successful regatta and a very big thank you to parents for their support with food this weekend. 

 

Important Information:

  • Bus departs John XXIII College at 6:15am to Champion Lakes. There will be NO returning bus. If you require a lift home – please communicate amongst your group.
     
  • The Program can be found on the App and also on the RWA Website. Please note the first race is at 8:00am and the last is at 4:28pm.
     
  • Due to this being the State Championships, there are heats and finals. If rowers can not stay for all of their heats and finals, the College is fined. 
     
  • It is always a big help if we have the support from the parents. Please do not pick your child up early and ensure they have completed their full heats and finals.
     
  • There will be no boat unloading on Saturday.

Presentation Evening

We are busy getting preparations underway for our Presentation Evening. A reminder that this event is planned for 17 September 2022. Invites will be sent next week. A wonderful occasion to celebrate the 2022 season as a rowing community.

Year 8 Rowing

Well done to the continued efforts of our Year 8 Rowers. The development that has been made in only two weeks has been notable. All Year 8 families are reminded to block out 17 September 2022 in the morning for our House Regatta at Canning Bridge. An Information session will follow this event.

 

Well done to parents of Year 8 Rowers who have been fabulous on the Team App. A+ to everyone.
