Student Learning Goals

As you will recall from our Student-Led conferences last term, St Justin's students set goals to assist in developing their learning. Students this term have developed new goals and these should be available for you to see on Seesaw. Again, we remind parents to please take some time with your child discussing their goals and what they are doing towards achieving these. Learning goals aim to be measurable so that students can see the growth they are making as well as motivating so that students can become active participants in the learning process. In setting goals and targets in their learning, the research indicates that students develop more confidence in themselves as learners and are more likely to take on more challenging tasks in order to achieve their goals.

A reminder also, that it is important for both students and adults to use growth mindset language when discussing goals and learning. Our mindset helps us to persevere and break through obstacles when they arise. We assist our students in moving from "I can't" to "I can't YET". The following image may help with some of your discussions at home.

Production Video Order Form

Thanks to all those who have placed an order for a copy of last year's production. Whilst the USB stick did arrive and were distributed, it appears that some of the USB sticks were mixed up with another order. If your USB stick does not contain a copy of the production, please return it to school so that the correct USB stick can be sent home. If you'd still like to order a copy, please complete the form below or contact the office.

VIRTUAL REALITY AT ST JUSTIN'S

Dear Parents and Families,

This year, the Year 5/6 students are embarking on a Virtual Reality (VR) journey using a program called CoSpaces. CoSpaces provides students with the ability to demonstrate their knowledge in new ways by building virtual interactive worlds, simple or complex, that are approachable for primary aged students.

In order for students to experience the world they have created in virtual format, we are seeking donations of old iPhones that you are no longer using at home.

The iPhone must work but does not need to be a new model. We would really appreciate any donations in order to allow our students new and exciting opportunities in 21st century digital learning.

We will be collecting the devices over the next 2 weeks so please send them in via your child's classroom bucket, preferably in a bag/envelope with attention to Mrs. Wickens (Digital Technologies Leader).
