Year 9 & 10 Elective Offerings for 2023

Students in Years 8 and 9 this year are in the process of selecting elective subjects for next year. We have made some changes to the elective structure and range of electives on offer for next year. From next year, students in Years 9 and 10 will select two elective subjects in Semester 1 and two electives in Semester 2.

New offerings include:

  • Agriculture & Horticulture
  • Design Technology (Textiles)
  • Digital Media Creation
  • Forensic Science
  • Photography

We look forward to the extra opportunities and engagement that these offerings will provide for Senior School students.

R/C Club

Our new R/C Club is underway on Thursday lunchtimes. Our group has grown and several students now get involved in a fun time of friendly racing. New tracks are made each week by the students and it is great to see the skill development. If you're interested in joining, 1/28th scale cars are preferred. See Mr. Zeunert for more details.

Food Technology

A new group of Year 8 students have started Food Tech this semester. This week they made Banana Bread.

Our school vegetable garden is starting to bloom! We have joined the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden and we will be involving the students in planting and maintaining the garden. We are hoping to be able to use the produce in our food tech classes and for school functions. If you have any spare seeds or seedlings at home we would happily plant them in our garden.

Extra Maths Activities

In Term 3, we are offering the following optional Mathematics activities for any interested students in Years 7 to 12:

  • Each Friday at lunchtime there will be maths puzzles and games in the Library mezzanine. This is also an extra chance for maths assistance when needed.

  • A maths competition will be running each fortnight with questions to challenge students. These will be displayed on posters around the school.
