Principal's Message

Liam Buckley

God of Love,

We recognise Your presence in our journey together
Open our minds to know Your voice.
Open our hands to do Your work.
And open our hearts to hold Your Spirit.

Dear all

Welcome back to Term 1 from all the staff at St Joseph's. We hope the summer was as restful as possible and we look forward to what will hopefully be a very different year.

Newsletters will be published every fortnight on a Friday and we plan on communicating and celebrating all our relevant news.

It is such a privilege to welcome your children back through the gates for a new school year. We have four new students joining us across other year levels as well as our new Foundation children. We welcome all our families and hope that they feel really welcomed and happy at choosing St Joseph's.

Lots of work has been done over the holidays in and around school and there is a lovely freshness to lots of spaces in school. The Foundation and Year 1 children are in the Junior Rooms (which was the library near the playground). The library resources are now housed in our Wellbeing Room which was previously the Foundation Classroom.

As we move into 2021 the we will be asking you to response to some surveys in order for us to gather some feedback as to how we are going in certain areas. The surveys will be specific in order for us to try and get a better sense of what our community needs. We would appreciate as many voices as possible and we ask you to consider the 'whole' school as well as your and your child's perspective. The first survey will be around 'communication' and we want to hear for our families in an attempt to improve how and what we communicate.  Ben and I will send an anonymous Google Form out soon to begin the process.

Parent Information Sessions

With the COVID restrictions being unpredictable at the moment we are going to facilitate our initial parent / teacher meeting digitally. Next week will will send information from the class teachers and provide a form for you to fill in including any relevant information that you think the teacher would benefit from knowing. This will be optional and will be sent via Operoo next week. Foundation parents will not require this as you have already had your information session.

Bobby will be working with the students across all aspects of PA including drama, dance and singing. We hope to grow our lunchtime and after school activities during the Term. If any parents are interested in volunteering their time to facilitate any activities, please contact me to have a chat.
