A Message from our CEO

As we move to 2021, we can reflect on how we have all come together in 2020 to address the challenges of the pandemic. The ISQua community has stood together and I want to thank you all for maintaining your membership of ISQua and continuing to be part of the community.

Through this challenge, we have learnt about the importance of community. This concept of the African concept of Ubuntu - Umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu", that a person is a person through other people. In the quality and safety movement, we are who we are because of what we do together. This is the age in which respect and kindness are central to all that we do.

At ISQua, over the past few years and particularly in the last year, we have instilled the spirit of Ubuntu into our daily work in the office and in how we relate to you, our Members.

For the IAP community, we started regular catch-up support meetings. For our Members around the world, we became a vehicle to spread knowledge through our resource centre, our webinars and our virtual programmes.

More importantly, we had the opportunity to strengthen our network of people and organisations who want to make a difference.

As was once said by Helen Keller “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.”

I wish all of you, your organisations, communities and loved ones a peaceful and happy festive season.

Let us look forward to 2021.

Dr Peter Lachman

ISQua CEO
