Classroom News - Year 4

Mrs Ross and Mr Norrie

On Friday the 20th of November a large number of representatives from Year 4 enjoyed the chance to take part in the Touch Football and Netball Gala Days. It was exciting to see them get their first taste of representing St Mary's in sport for 2020 outside the pool and away from home. The heat was the biggest competition with the Tamworth weather getting the better of a few individuals.

Brain Olympiad was enjoyed by a large group of Year 4 students, with their knowledge tested in a vast array of topics and categories. Having the opportunity to debate topics and perform a drama skit was a highlight both for the performers and the rest of their peers. The Drama skits were performed in front of Year 4, 5 and 6 which was enjoyed by all with plenty of laughs.

Last Wednesday Stage Two were lucky enough to attend their first Mass as a class group in over 8 months due to the restrictions of life in 2020 and the online learning period. We were a little out of practice but everyone was excited to get back into the swing of attending Mass and strengthening our faith under the guidance of Father Roel who never ceases to involve the children when attending Mass.

Year 4 got the chance to share in the Sacrament of Reconciliation last Friday, we thank Father Roel and Father Samson for their time.

Year 4 are thoroughly looking forward to the excitement of Advent festivities as they move into Stage 3, meet their year 5 teachers, create Christmas master pieces and celebrate the coming of Christ.
