PRODUCTION

On Monday last week, the production for 2021 was revealed.

'The Generation Gap'

'The Generation Gap' is a home grown production, written by our Performing Arts teacher, Peta Murray. It comically explores the growing generation gap that exists between the different generations of one family.

"Bruce and Belle are the busy parents of four children: Ivy and Tommy - their brooding teens and Mac and Molly, their rambunctious three year old twins. Bruce and Belle take the opportunity to go on a holiday (parents only!) to relax and recharge, leaving their children in the care of their maternal grandparents. The children are less than impressed by having to stay with their grandparents - they don't even have WiFi (the horror!!!!). Through storytelling and spending some quality time with their grandparents, the children rediscover their connection with their grandparents, parents and each other. Their relationship grows as they tell stories and discover that underneath all the technology and jargon, they all want the same thing – to be valued, appreciated and loved".

Children in years 5 & 6 are invited to audition for a speaking role. Children in years Foundation - 6 create the ensemble, supporting the main cast with exciting choreographed songs and scenes. Children get to experience what it is like to perform on a stage with costumes and props. This is a highlight for many children.

Auditions for those trying out for a main role are scheduled to take place on Wednesday 3rd March. Year 5 & 6 students will be informed of the process during Performing Arts lessons this week.
