Co-curricular - Junior Sport

With trials and gradings behind us, another summer season awaits. It has been fantastic to see the boys training in preparation for this Saturday. We finally get the chance to run out on the field, diamond or court and represent the College once more.

I would ask all Junior School parents and boys to make every effort to join the Team app. This will give you the most up-to-date information on training and game cancellations. This will occur via a notification through the app. You will also find the weekend draws and game locations. In addition to this, you will find in the document section the Code of Conduct that we  (players, coaches and parents) all must abide by. The documents section also includes a draft draw for the entire term. This will help families plan ahead. Please keep in mind that changes are made weekly and the fixtures page should be the main source of information for fixtures each week. The training schedule can also be found here.

Signing up to Team app is relatively straight forward. Download the app to your phone. Search for SPC sport, the College crest is the icon, click on it. You will be prompted to return to the sign-up page. Sign-up making sure to send a join request to Junior School Parents and Junior School Students. Fill out all the fields in the join request and then I can give you access. If you don’t sign-up, you will not receive the notifications for cancellations and changes.

It is expected that all Junior School boys wear the correct uniform this weekend. Please make sure you visit the Uniform Shop this week to purchase the sporting uniforms by making an appointment. To help the staff in the shop, payment will need to be made at the time of picking up your required items.

As we are still restricted in our activities due to COVID-19, there are a few procedures that need to be followed. On Saturday games played at home venues, please make sure to sign in via the QR codes. Coaches will have these with them. Please keep your 1.5m distance when watching and please no singing or chanting. Only one parent will be able to accompany a player to home grounds. All players and family members are asked to leave venues promptly at the end of play and not stay to socialise. These are standard protocols across all the IPSHA schools we will play. When travelling to away venues, we must adhere to the school’s procedures and follow any reasonable instructions at the ground.

I am excited for play to get underway and look forward to hearing the results of the boys’ efforts.
