2019 Awards Presentation Night

Last week, we celebrated the outstanding achievements of our students at our 2019 Awards Presentation Night. For the first time, the event was held at City of Casey’s new venue, Bunjil Place. This remarkable centre was a fitting place to celebrate all that is good in Catholic education.

This year’s Awards Presentation Night saw 211 awards given to students for their achievements in academia, the arts, sport and community. It was exciting and inspiring to see this display of excellence and dedication in so many of our students. Likewise, the many music and dance performances by our students were of a calibre befitting such a location.

This year, students from each faculty at both campuses received Academic Excellence Awards. In addition, an Academic Dux was awarded for each year level across the college. Other highlights included a number of awards for house spirit and contribution to the spiritual life of the college. Most notably, the 2018 Living Witness Award was awarded to Emma Pocock.

Among the awards were the prestigious University of Melbourne Kwong Lee Dow Award and Monash Scholars Awards. These awards are highly competitive across the state. Congratulations to Ruby Smith, who won the Kwong Lee Dow Award; Sophie Allen who won the Monash Scholars Award and Mariel Garcia who won both awards.

As a relatively new member to the college, I felt very proud to be part of the St. Peter’s community and feel excited about the challenges for the upcoming years. Congratulations to all award recipients and a huge thank you to staff, students and families who made the evening happen.
