WAKAKIRRI

Wakakirri

Wakakirri is Australia’s largest performing arts event for schools. Wakakirri is a word from the Aboriginal Wangaaypuwan people meaning "to dance a story". Next Monday 19th, students from Scotsburn and Buninyong will be travelling to Bendigo to perform their dance, Dream Green, loosely based on the picture book, Window by Jeannie Baker. The dance has been choreographed and produced by Mrs. Morgan, the Music/Art/Japanese/PE teacher at Scotsburn in collaboration with the students. Many, many hours have been put in to arrive at the final product and everyone is very excited to show all their hard work. The students will be giving a sneak preview at this week’s assembly and would love as many people as possible to come and see it. We all look forward to seeing you there! Wish us luck!
