Art
In remote learning Year 8 Art class were using air dry clay. It can be quite tricky to sculpt. Students were then able to hand-painted them. Madelyn Top took-up the challenge and her one piece grew to a creepy, spooky installation (above). Well done Madelyn. Happy Halloween!

Outdoor & Environment Studies
The Unit 4 Outdoor and Environment Studies class had blooming success in the MGSC vegetable garden producing lush beetroot, cos lettuce, silver beet and parsley. Students were studying land degradation, observing characteristics in our environment and looking at the impact on farming of soil's health and quality. On return from remote learning their labours earlier in the year were rewarded. Can't 'beet' that!

Theatre Studies
Year 12 Theatre Studies students completed their performance exam at Kingston City Hall on Monday 12 October. The students are required to demonstrate their ability to interpret a monologue script as an actor and a director. Our students portrayed characters including Jack (from ‘Into the Woods’), Hattie (a murderous female detective from ‘Murder at Warrabah House’), the Nurse (from ‘Medea’), the Stage-manager from ‘Our Town’ and the Witch (from ‘Into the Woods’). They worked very hard and conquered the additional challenge of developing their performances during remote learning. An extra difficulty was sourcing props and costumes with op shops closed. The MGSC community rallied and ensured they looked the part. Together again, the students supported each other through final rehearsals. Bravo to all!
