Class Placement 2021

A strongly considered and prayerful process is undertaken during the fourth term in regards to the placement of students in their class for 2021. 

Part of this process involves parents/caregivers providing any relevant information to the school for consideration  - friendships, ongoing issues with peers etc. Students will also be asked in the coming weeks about their friendship group and peers with whom they like to work. Please do not assume that we have remembered reasons for placement from previous years and you will need to communicate any thoughts or concerns that are still relevant. As a school, we guarantee that every child will be with at least one friend (who they have nominated). 

Many factors are considered in the placement of students including learning style/needs, emotional/social needs, gender-mix, personality traits. 

Parents/caregivers are asked to provide us with any information which you believe is relevant by Friday 6th November. 

Please do not request teachers (allocations to classes haven’t been finalised) as we will not accommodate those requests.  

It is preferred that you communicate via email to either Tim Kriewaldt kriewaldt.tim@goldengrove.sa.edu.au or Jayne Zadow zadow.jayne@goldengrove.sa.edu.au. All emails received will be acknowledged.  

As you would understand we take the process of allocation very seriously and believe that the final classes are the result of much work, thought and prayer. It is important that you take this opportunity to share as once classes are finalised (and released) there is no room for change. 

Staffing

2021 will see some minor staffing changes with Marion Chan and Kate Burton both accepting positions at Good Shepherd (Para Vista) next year. Both Marion and Kate have been given the opportunity to follow their passions in their careers. 

• Marion has a strong passion for early childhood education and will take up a position in the ELC in 2021.
• Kate has a had a strong desire to work in Learning Support; a role she is currently undertaking at GGLPS at the moment. Kate has been offered a Learning Support role at Para Vista.

While we will certainly miss both these teachers, we wish them every blessing as they continue to serve in Lutheran schools and follow their passions in teaching. We will only need to seek a replacement for Marion. This process has begun and will hopefully be finalised in the next week or so.

Middle of Term (MOT) Brekkie

MOT brekkie this term is 11 November at 8 am. We will be serving our community egg and bacon muffins. Coffee can be purchased at Cafe Connect.

Canteen

Plain Chicken Burger

Did you know that the canteen makes plain chicken burgers (chicken patty and bun with the option of sauce and cheese)? They are $ 4.30 with a choice of sauce (no extra) and cheese (an extra 50 cents).
