Year 10 Physical Education

Our Physical Education classes have looked a little different this year and even after we have come back to face-to-face learning, we have had to adhere to a number of restrictions and guidelines.

We haven’t been able to attend the local gym for a range of fitness sessions that we would usually do as part of the Year 10 Physical Education program, so we have had to bring the gym sessions to the class ourselves.

Thank you to our very own Physical Education teacher, Ms Jaime Wallace (AKA Zumba Extraordinaire) for taking the Zumba sessions for the three Year 10 Physical Education classes. Our wonderful Maintenance Team and technical expert, Mr Matt Graham also set the scene for the Zumba sessions by setting up a stage, speakers and microphone.

Our Year 10 Physical Education program endeavours to show the girls a range of different activities that they may not be familiar with and activities that encourage a healthy and active lifestyle.

3 V 3 Basketball

Last week the Unit 1&2 VET Sport and Recreation class ran a 3v3 Basketball Competition for the Year 7 students (Monday 16 November) and Year 8 students (Tuesday 17 November) as part of their assessment for the unit Conduct Sport, Fitness or Recreation events.

The girls entered their own teams and competed in a round robin competition. There was some great basketball played and it was great to see the girls out playing after such a long time away from sport. Congratulations to all girls who participated and the Unit 1&2 VET Sport and Recreation class for running such a great tournament.
