Chaplain’s 2020 Spot

 ‘Finishing well’

Usually at this time of the year, I create a poster to challenge students about how they will finish the year well, especially the Year 6 students. I have done the same this year, and have visited the senior classes to talk about the year, their expectations, and what they might do to finish well in such a year.

There have been many Facebook entries regarding 2020, including one that read like this - ‘I’m going to stay up past midnight, to ensure that 2020 goes’. I think most of us feel that way about this year. Sadly, countries in the northern hemisphere are going through the drama of a winter lock-down, with many casualties. I am thankful that I live in Australia.

There are only 5 weeks left in term 4, and 6 weeks until Christmas. How are you going to finish 2020 strong? For many people, there have been a variety of both positive and negative effects of the covid pandemic. One aspect of finishing well can be maintaining the positive family interactions that we adopted during lock-down.

Here are some quotes for us to consider, as we strive to finish the year well.

One of the fun parts of being a Chaplain is playing games with the students. This week Ashleigh O'Byrne and I reached 33 levels in Jenga, a record for this year. well done Ash!

If you would like to discuss anything that is affecting your family, please feel free to contact me via email or phone at the school.
