Flourishing Families Online Series

It is not too late to register for the last session in the Flourishing Families series next week. It was great to see so many Great Ryrie parents attend the first four sessions. Here is what one parent had to say:

"The Flourishing Families webinar series have really helped us as a family, find new ways to communicate, consider and conquer the daily changing world. It has been so nice to feel part of the wider community, when this year has tried to close those doors. Oh for the day, that we can cross that barrier and feel the warmth of GRPS once more. Learning about character strengths, emotion acknowledgement and recognition and tiny changes in habit, have been so valuable too. I look forward to the remaining 2 Thursday sessions." Kate Kenna

For more information, please see the flyer included on our Community page at the end of this Newsletter, or access via the Compass News Feed sent earlier this week.

SESSION DATE: THURSDAY  7:30-9:00 via Zoom

19 November - Session 5 Mindsets for Success

The idea behind the Bucket Filler theory is that each interaction with another person is a chance to build wellbeing. The theory developed by Clifton and Rath is that people have an invisible bucket and that by doing something kind for someone,  you not only fill their bucket but your own too!

Anyone can nominate a member of the Great Ryrie Community, by contacting me via Compass with your nomination and kind act.

Congratulations to our Bucket Fillers!

School Wide Positive Behaviour Support

Students have been busy making imovies to model how to be Respectful, Responsible, Learners in the classroom and playground.  Each grade made a short video to show the whole school what these behaviours look and sound like when we are demonstrating our school values. Within each year level, students voted on the winning movie.

Congratulations to Foundation A for their wonderful imovie.
