Join next year’s NGV Teen Council.

Are you a creative teen with a passion for the arts? Looking to learn about art and working in the creative industries while building your resume? You may be a great fit to join the 2021 NGV Teen Council.

The NGV Teen Council is appointed each year following an applications process from secondary school students fourteen years of age and older.  Members of the NGV Teen Council meet with NGV curators and staff and contribute to the design, coordination, and promotion of NGV programs for teens. In addition, they go behind the scenes at the NGV throughout the school year to learn and experience more.

• Meet with like-minded teens and work as a team forming the NGV Teen Council for 2021
• Contribute ideas and help to design, plan, and deliver NGV Teens programs throughout the year
• Through the experience, learn more about career opportunities in the creative industries
• Build and strengthen your communication, teamwork, time management, organisational and planning skills
• Gain volunteer hours to add to your resume
• Represent the Teen Council to your peers and engage with the media where appropriate, including being profiled as a Teen Council member on NGV social media and online platforms

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for the NGV Teen Council, you need to be:

• At least fourteen years of age
• A secondary school student in 2021
• Available to meet at NGV International (St Kilda Road, Melbourne) monthly, from 4–6pm on Wednesdays
• Well prepared to manage your school work and balance other obligations with Teen Council duties
