Year Three News

The Year Three students have been very busy over the last fortnight. Now that they are settled back at school and have become reacquainted with their friends, it's 'business as usual'; the students are make the most of their learning opportunities as they finish off 2020 and prepare for the transition into Year Four.

Their inquiry into physical sciences has seen them examining forces, both of the contact and non-contact varieties. This week, they used their new understanding of gravity and friction as they began an investigation that sees them trying to make a marble move a set distance and come to a stop on its own. Many students have used ramps, adjusting heights as they have their experiment and make necessary changes to make their marble roll further or stop sooner.

It has been wonderful to see the students so engaged in their experiments, watching and learning from each other and sharing in the successes of their peers. As teachers, we have been so lucky to work with such a wonderful bunch of students this year.
