2021 Booklist

The 2021 Junior School Prep to Year Six booklists are now available for parents to purchase online. Warrnambool Books has changed hands and is now trading under the Campion Education banner. The online process is fairly simple. Parents will be required to create a new account, select the College Junior School, and the relevant year level. Junior School families have been emailed a “How To’ sheet with instructions. Parents can opt to collect the book boxes from Warrnambool, or have them mailed out to their residential address.

Combined Christmas Service

As with many events in 2020, COVID-19 protocols have impacted the College Christmas Service. This year, Junior School students in ELC4, Prep, Year One and Year Two will contribute four nativity songs that will be embedded into a combined Senior Campus/Junior School Christmas Service, to be streamed live on Wednesday 9th December. Junior School students have had their songs recorded today, in the Senior Campus Simons Auditorium. The Service will tell the story of Christmas, and also feature Senior Campus solo singers, some special guest staff singers, traditional readings and Christmas messages from Rev. David Shultz and Rev. Angie Griffin.

2020 Maths Olympiad and Maths Games Awards

At last Friday’s Assembly we presented the medals and prizes to the Year Four, Five and Year Six students who took part in the 2020 Maths Games and Maths Olympiad competitions. Participation in these competitions introduces students to important mathematical concepts, teaches major strategies, develops flexibility for problem solving, fosters creativity, ingenuity and strengthens intuition as well as stimulates enthusiasm and enjoyment of mathematics. These enrichment activities are an important component of our Junior School offering, and will continue in 2021.

Christmas Appeal

A reminder to families that next week (Week 9) is the final week for donations to the Uniting Church Christmas Appeal. Each class has a collection box where Christmas food items can be placed. The Junior School Captains will be delivering the donations to the Uniting Church on Monday 7th December. Our connections with local community are an important aspect of the College. This worthy appeal benefits the less fortunate and I urge all families to support this venture.

2021 Start to the School Year

SRC Rubbish-Free Lunch Challenge

This Friday 27th November the SRC will be holding a Rubbish-Free Lunch Challenge.  The idea is to minimise the amount of waste we are generating so that we are sending less to landfill. We would like everyone to consider what they pack for lunch and how much wrapping is used. Please think about bringing your lunch in reusable containers or wrapping. Let’s aim for a rubbish-free lunch!
