Cricket

Last week saw the introduction of two-day cricket. Both the U14s and the U16s changed their attacking strokeplay to a patient two-day mind-set.

CCC 1-37 vs St Andrew’s 120. Continuing Tuesday at 16:00

The U16s found themselves under early presume with St Andrew’s getting to 4-87 before Harry Austin tore the heart out of the middle-order taking 4-9, to help bowl the opposition out for 120. In response, Jock Barrie was 25no when stumps were pulled.

Bowling- Henry Bensch 2-9, Jock Barrie 1-15, Harry Austin 4-9

Batting- Jock Barrie 25no, Jack Austin 9no

U14s- Continue Saturday morning at 08:45.

Hamilton 8-203 vs College Blue

College Blue spent 48 overs in the field as a consistent Hamilton batting performance made the most of their time at the crease. Blue certainly have their work cut out with the willow this week, but with the batting form they have been showing, they are more than capable of chasing down the total.

Bowling- George Clarke 1-19, Charlie Whitehead 1-12, Harry McDonald 1-5, Sam Tonissen 1-12, Ollie Pern 1-12 Will McKellar 1-13

College Gold 123 vs Grampians 1-23

Gold had a tough day at the office, being bowled out for 123. George Huf led the way with 52no in a great individual inning. Jack Jarvis was the next top score with 15. In response, Fergus Peddie took 1-2. Gold will need a big performance with the ball to restrict Grampians this coming Saturday.

U12s-

All College sides came up against strong opposition last week which would have no doubt shown the boys the level to aspire to.

Bowling- Charlie Jarvis 1-17

Grampians vs College Gold

Batting- Ned Hintum 22no, Riley Iredell

Bowling- Tom Templeton 1-12, Riley Iredell 2-9, Hamish Brown 1-9

College Blue vs Tahara Gold

Finally, a huge congratulations to Jock Barrie who made 103 in D Grade on Saturday. According to all reports, it was a fine knock, with Jock racing to 80odd in about 13 overs.

Good luck to all sides.
