Art Gallery - Grade 1 Spray Painting

In Art, the Grade 1 students looked at different examples of street art - we talked about what makes something art rather than graffiti and examined local examples as well as art by Banksy.

Students designed a stencil - the theme was something you would see in the sky. They strengthened their fine motor skills by cutting the stencils out of recycled cardboard, which they attached to blank paper. Next was the fun part - they added colour by spraying liquid watercolours over their paper. The stencil was removed and we were left with their image in white!
