NAPLAN – Yr. 3 and Yr. 5

Our Yr. 3 and Yr. 5 students have been completing the NAPLAN online tests this week. They have already completed the writing and reading tests with language conventions and the numeracy test to follow tomorrow and Friday. We will hold one make up session on Monday for any students who need to catch up on a missing test.

Students have been excited to complete the tests online using iPads and laptops. We look forward to reviewing our school and student results early next term to identify the learning needs of our students moving forward.

Yr. 6 Camp – POSTPONED to Monday 6th June – Thursday 9th June

Due to the weather event that was forecast for the Sunshine Coast this week, we made the decision, alongside our teachers and the camp provider to postpone the camp until Week 8 this term. Student safety is always at the forefront of decisions and they would have had restricted activities with the rain and would not get the full camp experience we hope to offer in Week 8 . Fingers crossed the weather gods are kind to us for our next departure date. Thank you to all families for your understanding.

Interschool Sport Update

Our interschool sport program has been heavily affected by the recent weather with the past few weeks being cancelled due to closure of fields. I am predicting this will also be the case this week, however the district is looking at options to extend the Term 2 Interschool Sport Competition into next term, conducting some gala days to make up for missed opportunities this term. We will communicate any changes to our sport program as soon as the information becomes available.

District Cross Country – New Date Monday 23rd May

The District Cross Country Carnival has again been postponed until Monday the 23rd of May. Mr Locke will pass on any changes to the program with students who will be participating in the event.
