Inquiry Centre

Curriculum

Welcome back to our 1/2 families! The teachers are so excited to be back into the school routine. Another massive thank you to everyone that attended our celebrations in the last week of school, it was so lovely to see our community at the Colour Fun Run, Guided Inquiry Showcase, Easter Hat parade and Family Breakfast.

In the final week of Term 1, students spent a lot of time finalising their Guided Inquiry projects ready to share with our families. Students spent time rehearsing all the things they know about themselves and what makes them unique. You can also see a digital copy of your child's work on Seesaw as well. For our Literacy sessions, we were summarising fiction and non-fiction texts. Looking at summarising events, the author's message and even the main ideas of what we are reading.

During Mathematics sessions, the 1/2 students were involved in lots of problem-solving tasks involving Easter eggs; which eggs were the best value to buy, how many eggs were needed and even solving the case of the missing Easter baskets. It was impressive to see lots of different problem-solving strategies including number lines, counters, diagrams and even some equations.

We are excited and looking forward to a fun and busy term!
