School Captain News

Noah:

Hola! Noah here again with the second last issue of captain’s news this term. This week I covered the Athletics Carnival during Thursday and any other important events throughout the week.

Before I start I’d like to mention all of this week’s star award winners, you all deserve it!

This year’s Athletics Carnival was very successful. Years 4, 5 and 6 arrived at 9 o'clock to start their events.

Year 6 started off with Triple Jump while year 5 did Long Jump. After our first event years 5 and 6 headed to the 800 Metre race. Amazing job to everyone who ran in this event.

We then had a quick break before heading to the 100 Metre Sprint which was split into 2 heats.

After the 100 Metre sprint we went over to the 50 Metre Hurdles. After another quick break we competed in Shot Put and Discus which were both really fun.

Then came the 200 Metre Sprint and after that we had the relays. Each house's sport captains needed to put together a team of 2 girls and 2 boys from each grade. I must say it was pretty confusing when we had lots of people wanting to be in the relay at once!

Green ended up coming last in both novelty and normal relays which was disappointing. At the end of the day it doesn’t really matter, all that matters is that everyone had fun, which I’m pretty sure everyone succeeded in.

After the relays it was time to announce the winners. Yellow ended up taking the win this year and I’m sure everyone in yellow is super proud of themselves for competing and contributing this year, well done!

I think that's it for this week, make sure to tune in for the final issue of captain’s news for this term.

Hope you enjoyed it, byyyyye!
